1. Know how to curl…Ringlets are here to stay, so brush up on your curl-creating techniques.

Hints: 
  • For loose spirals, wrap hair around the outside of the barrel of your curling iron to keep them smoother and less uniform.
  • Lots of full-volume, precision curls can be achieved with hot rollers using a variety of sizes for varying ringlets.

2. Don’t be afraid of volume! Adding height in the crown or throughout layers is a sure-fire way to get glam fast!
Hints:
  • Flip head upside down and direct blow-dryer heat at roots while tousling to make them stand more upright and give your profile volume.
  • The bigger the round brush you use, the more volume you’ll instill into tresses.
  • Velcro rollers can really pump up the body; use them on dry hair and heat-set with the blow-dryer after misting with styling spray.

3. Go with what works…Got natural curls?  Stop straightening them and work with what you’ve got.
Hints:
  • To tousle hair while blow-drying, stick fingertips into hair and shimmy your fingers back and forth along the scalp; this will help infuse air into the root area.
  • To tousle through curls, separate fingers and rake them lightly through ringlets, focusing on the ends of spirals and avoiding the scalp.
  • To tousle through edges with wax or pomade, apply product to fingertips, then lightly brush thumbs across fingertips with hair between.

4. If you decide to straighten, skip a boring straight look and go for a cute flip look.

Hints:

  • Apply just a touch of styling wax on ends and hand-curve them out for a more subtle flip.
